Detailed Specifications & Identification

  • Socket End (Top): This is a female hex or flower-pattern socket. It is designed to slide over the drive nut of the spare tire winch mechanism located behind the rear bumper.

  • The Shaft: A long, solid steel rod, 24  inches, that allows you to reach the winch from outside the vehicle.

  • The Drive End (Bottom): Notice the notched/splined end in your third and fourth photos. This end is designed to lock into the vehicle's lug wrench or another extension rod to give you the leverage needed to turn the hoist.

  • Material: Heavy-duty carbon steel, often finished in black oxide or a rough zinc plating

  • Ford F-150 / Expedition: Often uses a "square" or "clover" style socket.
