John Edwards "Minerva" Pattern Ironstone Serving Platter
$20.00
Tired of serving dinner on plates that have absolutely no stories to tell? Introduce your Thanksgiving turkey to some late-Victorian drama. This gorgeous John Edwards 'Minerva' platter has survived over a century of gossip, dinners, and historical shifts—and frankly, its crazing just proves it has more character than any of us. Perfect for serving, displaying, or just making your guests think you inherited a grand English estate.
A large, rectangular antique ironstone serving platter featuring a scalloped, fluted rim and an asymmetric Aesthetic Movement design. The transferware pattern includes delicate brown botanical branches, highlighted with hand-painted touches of cobalt blue field flowers/berries on the left and soft orange-red berries on the right. The reverse side features heavy age crazing and a clear backstamp bearing a globe emblem inscribed "JOHN EDWARDS FENTON ENGLAND," the pattern name "MINERVA," and the British registration number "Rd 120164."
