German Wooden Clog Sailboat Ship Lamp

This is a mid-century novelty folk art table or nightlight lamp featuring a hull crafted from a traditional dark-stained wooden clog/shoe. Configured as a three-masted sailing galleon, it has faux-parchment or paper sails detailed with regional coats of arms (including the German Federal Eagle shield) and is topped with small German flags. The internal electrical cord features a small candelabra-style socket nestled directly within the wooden shoe opening, intended to hold a small low-wattage or colored nightlight bulb. This type of piece was popular from the 1950s through the 1970s as a travel souvenir from Western Europe.
