Carrollton Pottery Co. Semi-Vitreous Dinner Plate / Charger with Cobalt Blue and Encrusted Gold Swag Trim

This is a vintage semi-vitreous porcelain dinner plate or small platter manufactured by the Carrollton Pottery Company of Carrollton, Ohio (active 1903–1937). The piece features a prominent scalloped rim bordered with a deep cobalt blue bleed, overlaid with intricate, elegant gold gilt swags and scrollwork motifs. The surface shows an extensive, uniform fine crackle/crazing pattern consistent with its antique age and the nature of early 20th-century semi-vitreous clay bodies. The underside bears the classic green maker's mark consisting of a crown perched above two concentric circles containing a spread-winged eagle and the text "CARROLLTON CHINA"
